Camille Oakes teaches leaders how to use emotional intelligence to get more of what they actually want from their teams, including the truth.

For over 20 years, she’s proven this inside one of the highest stakes environments there is: workplace safety, where trust and honest communication are matters of life and death. She holds a CSP, SMS, OHST, and CIT, a B.S. in Safety Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical
University, and a Master of Engineering in Advanced Safety and Engineering Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. But her real expertise is in what happens between people: why teams stop telling the truth, why blame kills performance, and how leaders build the kind of trust that makes people actually want to follow them.

She’s the author of EQ for the Safety Leader, a speaker at national conferences including the NSC Congress and ASSP PDC, and a sought-after voice on leadership, culture, and communication for organizations who are ready to move past compliance and into real influence.

Safety is my life and a large part of what I’m thinking about all day. I love to use data, stories, emotions, and relationships to help entire organizations — at every level — see the benefits of mitigating their risk … and taking action to do so.
